Our Story
I frequently get asked for the origin story of the name “La Finca”. If you have ever wondered, this is how it came to be…
As a 16 year old girl I left my small hometown of Lehi, Utah and traveled 3800 miles to San Cristobal, Venezuela, where I lived as an exchange student for a year. I adored that lovely country and its people and culture. I particularly loved what they called La Finca (feen-kah). It was a rural home, an agricultural retreat, somewhere far away from their home in the city. It was a place they raised their own flowers, sugar cane, coffee, chickens and cows. A place they went to be renewed and refreshed. They went to reconnect with each other and with nature.
It's been several years since I left Venezuela but a piece of my heart will always be there and at the many fincas I experienced. La Finca Flower Farm is my family’s own little agricultural retreat where we work to grow the Good in life. I hope our flowers provide a moment of renewal for you and a retreat into the good that grows all around us.
