We’re a small family farm, looking to grow the good in our family and this world.
We share the soul-food of flowers through on-farm U-Pick events, workshops, and private photo sessions.
We also offer our high-quality local and organic flowers wholesale to florists.
We’re a Certified Grower with the Utah Cut Flower Farm Association (UCFFA), and we can’t wait to meet you!
How did Jenny get into flower farming?
My childhood was spent in the garden and surrounded by nature. In fact, I was practically raised in the dirt - out in my family's garden, in the wilderness by the creek near our home and in the mountains surrounding us.
Our grandparents were farmers, and we both spent a lot of time on their farms. Mine raised cattle and hay, and Matt’s dad and grandfather had large fruit orchards and acres of vegetable gardens. So it’s in our blood!
I have loved growing things for as long as I can remember. I planted my own first garden over 20 years ago, mostly growing veggies, but the true thrill came from growing flowers.
My journey from gardener to flower farmer began while visiting Purdum's Produce, our cousin's farm in Fruitland, Idaho. They grew every fruit and vegetable imaginable and had the largest produce stand I had ever seen!
With everything they offered, the one thing that captured my attention and imagination were the bunches of sunflowers (actual photo from that cloudy day below!) in a range of colors I had never seen before.
As we left the farm for home, we drove by their terraced field of sunflowers and my flower farming dream was born.
The following several years presented unimaginable challenges for our little family, the greatest of which was my cancer diagnosis and the decade-long battle that ensued.
But the dream followed me until 2020 when my health was finally improving and suddenly the whole world paused for the pandemic. I needed a project and fresh air! I decided being homebound was the perfect time to jump into flower farming.
Experiencing that first growing season was magic and our little La Finca Flower Farm was born. We felt Heaven nudging us onward in this new adventure and decided to jump all in.
We sold our home and rented another until we found the perfect spot in Pleasant Grove to raise our family and our flowers. We are crazy grateful to be here, working to grow the good in the world around us, and to be able to share our journey with you!
Where did the La Finca name come from?
As a 16 year old girl I left my small hometown of Lehi, Utah and headed south. 3800 miles south to San Cristobal, Venezuela, where I lived as a foreign exchange student for a year.
My experience there was a big-time life change and I came to wholeheartedly adore that lovely country and its people and culture.
I was particularly enamored with what they called a “finca”. It was an agricultural retreat, a rural second home, somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It was a place where they raised their own sugar cane, coffee, vegetables, cows, chickens, and flowers.
A place they went to be renewed and refreshed and to connect with family, friends, and nature.
It's been several years since I left Venezuela, but a piece of my heart will always be there and at the many fincas I experienced.
La Finca Flower Farm is my family’s own little agricultural retreat where we work to grow the good in life. I hope our finca provides a moment of renewal for you and a retreat into the good that grows all around us!
